Woohoo! It’s spring break. Out of office on, time to start planning activities now, if you haven’t already. While the kids will be off for the next week or two (depending on your school) the entire month of March is filled with great events. Read on to discover all of the Montreal family activities that March 2024 has to offer!

Spring Break Activities

Pointe-à-Calliere – March 2-9

This Old Montreal museum will be offering activities daily from 11am to 4pm that are inspired by the current exhibits about the Saint Lawrence River and pirates! Families can expect sports tournaments, fishing, architectural tours, a VR simulator, and old-fashioned donuts, to name a few. Check out the daily schedule for more details.

Place des Arts – March 6-9

Head downtown to discover a myriad of activities mid-break. Just a few of the free events include storytelling (in French), a circus workshop, baking for the homeless in partnership with La Tablée des Chefs, and an origami workshop. While you’re in the area, it’s a great time to check out Montreal en Lumiere as well!

Indigo / Coles – March 4-8

The bookstore does it best with 5 themed days of free activities at various Indigo and Coles locations in the city (and throughout Canada if you’re travelling nationally). Here’s the itinerary: Monday – Lego, Tuesday – Dogman, Wednesday – Baking with Klutz, Thursday – Bluey and Friday – Hot Wheels and Barbie.

International Gymnix – March 6-10

This women’s gymnastics competition is taking place at Centre Claude Robillard over the break. Pick a competition (juniors, seniors, finals) and buy tickets online. Kids under 5 are free, 6-12 are $15-$20, and adults are $24-$30. Or if you have a gymnastics lover (6+) at home, sign up for the behind-the-scenes package for March 6th. For $35 you’ll have access to see a training and to meet the athletes for photos and autographs.

World Figure Skating Championships – March 18-24

For the second time ever, Montreal will be hosting these international figure skating championships. A variety of shows will be taking place at the Bell Centre including men’s, women’s, pairs, and more. Tickets are on the pricier side, starting at $235 each.

Cabane Panache – March 21-24

Now in its 12th edition at Promenade Wellington, the Sugar Shack comes to the city in this outdoor festival. Some of the activities include curling, a wood-cutting competition, traditional dancing, story time, a mullet workshop (!), a hot sauce contest and more. There is also the Desjardins family area where there will be outdoor games and maple taffy, daily.

The Outdoor Adventure Show – March 23-24

Taking place at Palais des Congres, this show is perfect for anyone planning their next adventure. Whether you’re interested in travel in Quebec or internationally, camping or scuba diving, there’s something for everyone. Especially the kids. The show features a scavenger hunt for kids which includes a treasure passport with stamps to be collected throughout the venue. Once kids turn in their passports they will be rewarded with a big prize at the end. Kids under 11 are free to enter.

Easter Egg Hunt – March 29-31

The end of the month closes out with Easter but you better reserve your spot at this Quinn Farm easter egg hunt now! Lots of chocolate and the Easter bunny will be on site. Admission to the farm is $5 per person and participation in the hunt is $6 per child.
